Meet the Haswells, a self-declared “Kindness Family.” The parents started their own community organization, SpreadKindness.org. The kids started a kindness club at their school. Maria Haswell recalls how it all started: "One day I woke up and wanted to do a random act of kindness." Since that day, Maria and her husband, Mark, founded SpreadKindness.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and empowering people to practice kindness in their everyday lives. Their children, Khaela and Ryan took it upon themselves to start a Kindness Club at their high school. The club is dedicated to making their campus a kinder place, and often holds events like free hug days and teacher appreciation days.
